Week 4 Photoshoot.
One word. Disaster.
Since everyone else was doing a slightly more complex shoot with backgrounds, props and whatnot, I decided to take the simplest approach out of everyone else. Black background/lights and hopefully silhouettes.
Little did I know that was going to be a terrible afternoon. As soon as the model came on my scene I was suddenly stunned. No not by her looks but by the fact that I. Had. Absolutely. No. Idea. What. To. Do. With. Her. Absolutely no idea.
I had everything that I wanted planned out in my head, I knew how many lights I will use, where the lights are going to be and how to achieve a completely black or white background. I spent at least 30 minutes with my delegated assistant metering and finding out where the best position is for the lights and the subject.
And then the shoot happened. Total. Blackout. Absolutely no direction, no sense of start or finish. And of course, none of the photos turned out close to the lowest point of my standards. Deleted. Gone. Trashed. I don’t ever want to see those photos ever again.
But I will persevere and bounce back from these errors and I will redeem myself.
